Oops, just see that yesterday was your Hebrew Birthday, actually you told me, nevertheless still Mazeltov and we will repeat it on December 15, the important thing is that you should have a healthy year, with good parnosse lots of happiness and more sunshine than rain together with Shmuely and lots of naches from Rozy.
I can't believe that you are already 22, it makes me so old, but that is okay.

NY Hall of Science

Hello Everyone. Pictures will come soon, but just wanted to say thank you to Rivka for inviting Rozy & I to join in the fun of the NY Hall of Science. It was actually my first time ever there! Don't know how that happened, but we had a GREAT time! Hopefully I'll get around to posting a few pictures of the day.

Thanksgiving diner

we had a wonderful Thanksgiving diner with the Rothsteins, Golds and Shterns at our house. First we said Kapitel Chof for the Holtzbergs and other people that are in danger in India.
Fred read the declaration of Independence, Boomie said a few words and Pappa was emotional over loaded.
I took pictures, but forgot how to put the on the blog, if somebody can talk me through that, I will show the beautiful table.

May we here soon hear good news from the Holtzbergs.

a good gebensht year to all

Yom Tov is over and we had a wonderful time, it was extremely hot today ( over 90 degrees) but in shul it was freezing. It was very leibedick for Simcha Torah and a unique meal was served to day. They created fantastic Subway sandwiches, with warm baguettes and a salad bar, it was the best idea the shul ever had. We had 4 separate minyonim fr Toarh reading and they sold Chatan Torah and Bereshit 4 times. The problem was that we had noty too many people in shul so each minyan had just enough people.
We didn't have a Cohen ( Benji Stock was at Shul at the Shore) so no duchenen for the last 2 days.
Pappa survived all the tumult in shul, it is just not his style.
We wish all of you a good gebensht year with good health, good Parnosse and naches from each other and the children.

Hello. We have gone for pictures, yet once again! Rozy's one year pictures!!! Wow!!! Time has flown by fast. Well, here are just a few of the pictures. Enjoy and have a great Shabbos.

new school year

so everyone is back on a schedule. we're pretty happy with everyone's teachers. hinda has all the same girls as last year (that's good) and an amazing english teacher. she's very excited. Estee has a lot of the same kids from last year and would rather have summer all year long (I don't know where she gets that from?) Simcha seems fine, young-ish teacher, same kids, 7th Grade! Levi has some very young new teachers so we might move him to a better-teacher class next week. but he's happy in school.
I'm still working hard, always criminals. My computer fiasco has come up again. my firm, fink, had a meeting with the investigators and they have been calling me about more questions but we've been playing phone tag. That makes me very stressed and uneasy, it's quite a burden on me emotionally. this too shall pass....
talking about pass, I passed another part of the NY CSR (that's the test given once a year in June.)
So now I have to wait until next june and take the final 10 legal questions. No doubt in my mind that I'll pass the complete CSR then.
Meanwhile I'm contemplating taking the CRR test, that's a realtime test given on the computer. it's given a few times a year and hope to be ready for it in a few months. we'll see.

AUGUST IS CERTAINLY AN AUSPISCIOUS MONTH. WE FONDLY REMEMBER OMI's BIRTHDAY ON AUGUST 03, 1917. DIFFICULT FOR ME TO PICTURE OMI AT 91 YEARS.
RIVKA's BIRTHDAY; HADASSAH's BIRTHDAY; AND I'm SURE I FORGOT A COUPLE OF GRANDKIDS BIRTHDAYS.
ALSO REMEMBER OPA IES MOL - BIRTHDAY & JAARZEIT AROUND SHABBOS NACHAMU. HE WAS SUCH A GENTLEMAN, & "EIDEL" MAN OF YEARS. ON HIS JAARZEIT IN SHUL FOR KADDISH, ALL REMEMBERED HIM FONDLY, AS "OPA IES "FROM HOLLAND. I WOULD HOPE TO BE ABLE TO EMULATE HIS NATURE WHEN I REACH THOSE YEARS IN LIFE. EVEN THOUGH IES & I HAD SOME (minor) DIFFERENCES EARLY ON - HE WAS TRUELY AN ELDER PATRIARCH STATESMAN THROUGHOUT OUR ENTIRE RELATIONSHIP. I STILL MISS HIS COMFORTING PRESENCE SITTING AT THE POOL WITH TIE & JACKET ON VIRGINIA Rd.

NOT TO FORGET, WHAT STARTED THIS ALL, 35 YEARS AGO, IN THE DEVENTER SHUL (ON THE LANGE BISCHOOP STRAAT- WHICH WAS CORDONED OFF ON SUNDAY & NEEDED A SPECIAL PERMIT FROM POLITIE FOR THE LIMO) ON AUGUST 19, 1973 - WHEN THE MAMA & PAPA HAD CHUPPAH PERFORMED BY THE AMSTERDAM CHAZZEN HANS BLOEMDENDAAL & MESADAR KEDUSHIN BORROWED FROM THE PORTUGESE ISRAELITEN SYNAGOGE IN AMSTERDAM, RABBI DRUKARCH. THE SHUL HAD'nt HAD A CHUPPAH IN YEARS, & PREPERATIONS BY THE MOL's WERE ALL ARRANGED TO POLISH THE SILVER & SET UP THE (UNUSED) SHUL. WE HAD THE "RECEPTIE" IN THE DEVENTER IJSBAN LODGE (ICE SKATING RINK IN DEVENTER), AND HAD THE EVENT KOSHER (COLD CUTS, ETC.) CATERED FROM AMSTERDAM - FORGOT THE NAMEOF THE ELDERLY CATERERS FROM A'DAM. OF COURSE THE VAN BEETZ's WERE THERE. FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS WERE DONE BY (GENTILE) FRIENDS "OOM COOR". THERE I WAS AL BEDECKT IN TOPHAT, TAILS, & WHITE GLOVES. I DIDN't REALLY APPRECIATE AT THE TIME, HOW WE WERE A PART OF HOLLANDSE JOODSE HISTORY. WE HAD OUR 'HONEYMOON' IN CORK, IRELAND. IF ANYONE WANTS THE FUNNY DETAILS OF THAT TRIP, YOU HAVE TO ASK THE MAMA.
YEP, IT's 35 YEARS AGO, AND WOW, LOOK AT US NOW - KEIN HAYIN HORA.

DUE TO LIFE's TACTITURN, I've ALSO STARTED LEARNING AN ENTIRELY NEW WORLD OF COMPUTER & STOCK OPTIONS TRADING. SO MANY NEW CONCEPTS AND TECHNOLOGIES. I'm PLUGGING FORWARD, AND AM POSITIVE IN LEARNING AND STUDYING. YOU CAN LOOK IT UP AT: OPTIONETICS.COM. GIVES YOU SOME IDEA.

Hello Everyone. I hope that you all had an easy fast. Just wanted to let everyone know that our kitchen floor is finally done and looks beautiful, and our front entry way was done as well. Our apartment is really turning into a home. Shmuely and I had a nice surprise on Friday and spoke with Hinda; well, actually Shmuely's niece called to wish him a happy birthday, and Hinda said hello too. They seem to be having a great time and seem to be getting along really well together. Yes, they are in the same bunk, and apparently do not like their counselor! Just wanted to share this picture of Rozy eating oatmeal! Boy, did she enjoy it, and had VERY soft hair after her bath that night!

water aerobics incident

3 times a week I go to the Hebrew Academy for an hour of water aerobics. Sounds good, right? Well today I tried to do something I couldn't really do, slammed into the concrete of the border of the pool and broke a rib. Nothing can be done, except staying away from any exercise including swimming. Since I exercise over an hour day, I am rather concerned, exercising is a very important part of my weight loss.
Meir and Hadassah don't worry, the ribs will be fine by the time I come babysitting.
August 18 I am having a big check up with the surgeon. B"H everything is going as planned ( except this rib situation).

Hello! Just wondering if you can post the information for Simcha's camp and for Hinda's camp so that we can send them some letters and maybe some goodies. When do they actually finish camp, too???

teich renovations

so, our old upstairs bathroom has been guttted leaving only the bathtub and toilet. they put up new walls and ceiling. about half of the tiles are up-gorgeous. very different than the ugly pink tiles. tommorrow they should finish tiling, friday grout, and even put in the vanity and toilet so we can have it for shabbos, otherwise first thing next week. and then they start on the first floor bathroom, which by the way is cleaned out and we've been using as our main bathroom. pictures will be posted when it's done.

Hinda got of to camp. she called a few times and is happy.
estee went to a farm today with camp...came back with 8 ears of corn, 3 eggplants, and 2 green peppers!

All else is fine.

our sunday

Hi. Today is sunday. we went on a family trip, with Dovid, to prospect park andtook an electric boat ride around the lake. really relaxing, very informative, and something different. they have beautiful grounds and a gorgeous boathouse from 1907 with outdoor seating anda little cafe. we had our lunch, did some arts and crafts, and left.
from there we went to boro park to the sprinkles ice cream store and had everything you can imagine. the plan was to go to the newly built park right across the street but it was pouring rain. We were so lucky; it poured while we were homein the morning, stopped and thesun came out for the boathouse, and started up again whilewe were eating our ice cream.
Now were back home, it's only 3:30 and feels like 7:00. It's thundering and raining - mama would love it. Raizy and Levi fell asleep, hinda and estee are watching the parent trap, and I'm upstairs putting of my transcripts...i really should go and get them done.

Newest Driver

Congratulations, Shmuely! We now have another driver in the family. Shmuely has officially passed his driving test and is a licensed driver, from the state of Florida. Let's all hope and pray that he is(which he is) a much better driver than this guy!

FLORIDA

Hello, Everyone! Just wanting to let everyone know that we have made it safely(and healthy) to Florida. We had a great flight, on SpiritAir, a bit crammed for the legs, but an extra seat for Rozy! We're hoping to just relax and have a good time. Surprisingly, the weather here actually seems quite cooler than back home in NewYork. Hoping that everyone is doing well and Iddo & Etta have a great rest of their trip. We'll be in touch about further information. Good-bye for now, we love you all.

This picture is after a day of swimming in Cedarhurst, she fell asleep in the car, I moved her to the couch and she was OUT. I couldn't resist taking a picture of her in her little bikini.
Here is goofball Levi. he is wearing his new goggles set complete with earplugs and nose plug just around the house-no pool in sight. I can't help but to laugh when I see this!
